Free 2-Minute Assessment

Which AI employee should you hire first?

Answer 8 quick questions. We'll tell you which AI assistant gives you back the most hours, and whether your business is ready for it.

AI can now do real work in a business like yours: chase leads, draft proposals, keep the books current, write content, and run the admin that eats your week. The mistake most owners make is starting with the wrong one.

This assessment looks at where your time actually goes and what systems you already have, then recommends the one AI assistant to start with: the one that pays for itself fastest in your business.

8 questions, about 2 minutes.

How the AI Employee Readiness Assessment works

This assessment answers two questions. Which AI assistant should your business start with? And is your business ready for it? It asks 8 questions about where your time goes and what systems you already have. It takes about 2 minutes.

An “AI employee” here means an AI assistant set up to own one kind of repeat work. The assessment picks from five:

The 8 questions

  1. Where does most of your week actually disappear? Pick one: scheduling, emails and repetitive admin; chasing leads and following up on quotes; writing quotes, proposals and estimates; marketing; or bookkeeping, invoices and money questions.
  2. What happens to a new lead who contacts you today? From “Honestly, leads sit for days” to “Instant response, tracked to close.”
  3. How do quotes and proposals get made? From “From scratch every time, hours each” to “We rarely need written proposals.”
  4. How visible is your business online in a typical month? From “Almost never, no time to create” to “We post consistently and it brings leads.”
  5. When did you last see a clear monthly picture of your numbers? From “I check the bank balance, that's it” to “Every month, current and clear.”
  6. What runs the business today, software-wise? From “Paper, texts, and memory” to “CRM + accounting software, used daily.”
  7. How much have you personally used AI tools (ChatGPT, Claude, etc.)? From “Skeptical, need to see proof” to “Weekly, already part of how I work.”
  8. If an assistant handed you back 5 hours a week, where would you want them taken from? Pick one of the same five areas as question 1.

How your recommendation is calculated

Each answer adds points to one or more of the five assistants:

The assistant with the most points is your first hire. If two are tied, the one you picked in question 8 wins. Next comes the one from question 1. After that, a fixed order: Follow-Up, Admin, Proposal, Content, Numbers. The Admin Assistant is never ruled out, so you always get a result. Your second hire is the next assistant in line, but only if your answers gave it points.

Readiness comes from questions 6 and 7 only.

Software (0 to 3): paper and memory 0, spreadsheets 1, accounting software plus spreadsheets 2, CRM plus accounting software used daily 3
AI comfort (1 to 3): skeptical or curious 1, tried a few times 2, weekly use 3
Readiness = software + AI comfort, out of 6

How to read your result

Your result names your first AI hire and shows one of three readiness levels:

You also see four jobs the assistant handles in week one, and your second hire, if there is one. Start with one assistant, and get it earning its keep before you add another. To see your result, fill in the short form with your name, email and business name. We show it on the page and email you a copy.

Common questions

What if my answers say everything is already handled?

Then your first hire is the Admin Assistant. Every business has everyday admin around its other work, so that's the natural place to start.

Why does it pick only one assistant to start?

Starting with one keeps it simple. Once the first assistant is earning its keep, you'll know what to add next. Your result still names a second hire when your answers point to one.

Do I need a CRM first?

Not always. The readiness level tells you. A business that runs on paper and memory starts with one system of record. A business with a CRM and accounting software used daily needs light setup at most.

Do I need to give my email?

Yes, for this assessment. We ask for your name and email, then show your recommendation on the page and email you a copy.

How long does it take?

About 2 minutes. There are 8 questions, and each one is a single tap.
